WB selection criteria regarding I/O count

Purchasing an ISaGRAF Workbench to use it with ICP DAS hardware, whether 7188s, 8Ks or the Wincon with ISaGRAF 3 or 4 requires the selection of the proper Workbench in terms of I/O size. The ISaGRAF Workbenches for ICP DAS comes in the following sizes:

 ISaGRAF 3
7188's
8xx7's
Wincon
ISaGRAF 4
Wincon
Essential, 32 I/OI3-WDX-32I4-PRX-32
Essential, 256 I/OI3-WDX-256I4-PRX-256
Essential, Unlimited I/OI3-PRSI4-PRL

An I/O is defined as any module connected to the ICPDAS controller that will send/receive a physical signal to/from a field instrument, regardless of the method used to read the data. This is applicable to local I/O cards in the 8K chassis, or remote 7000 modules through RS-485 (using ISaGRAF function blocks) or using Modbus communication commands.

Example 1:
7188EG equipped with a X304 expansion board: Total of 12 I/O. Requires a 32 I/O Workbench.

Example 2:
7188EG equipped with a X304 expansion board and two RS-485 I-7145: Total of 44 I/O. Requires 256 I/O Workbench.

Example 3:
8437, with some local 8000 I/O cards (65 I/O total) + 20 X I-7145 and 20 X I-7017: Total of 545 I/O. Requires Unlimited I/O Workbench.
